VPRS 13015 Correspondence Reference Book

This series contains records of matters referred by other officers of Government and officers within the Lands Department to F Powlett, the Chief Commissioner of Crown lands for a decision. The referred records were correspondence received by the originator which was sent on with an annotation (or Minute) for comment. Powlett would then respond on the same piece of correspondence and return it to the originator.Details given are the name and/or office of the person referring the correspondence, the date, a summary of the subject, a transcription of the Minute, a transcription of Powlett's further minute and the dates of receipt and reply. Matters referred to were the proper interpretation of policy with respect to lands and matters to do with departmental administration.
