YS Employment Outlook Survey 2025

Since 2009, YS (Yrkesorganisasjonenes Sentralforbund) has collaborated with the Work Research Institute (AFI) on the YS Work Life Barometer. Over the years, the barometer has established itself as one of the most important tools for measuring the status and trends in Norwegian working life from year to year. With the help of researchers at AFI, accurate diagnoses of the current situation are made, trends are analysed, and attempts are made to look into the future.

There is no definitive answer to what the state of working life is or will be, but through the Work Life Barometer, it is possible to look at developments both holistically and in more detail. The barometer organizes both old and new knowledge, allowing us to view working life with fresh eyes. It also enables us to describe connections that previously went unnoticed. For YS and its member unions, this means new opportunities to assess the needs and perceptions of their members.
