Patient deaths while on the organ transplant waiting list in Portugal 2019-2023

In 2023, 36 patients died while on the waiting list for a kidney transplant in Portugal. In the previous year, this number decreased to 25 patients. The number of patients who died while on the waiting list for a lung or a pancreas transplant in 2023 decreased when compared to the previous year.
