VPRS 9290 Minutes, Agenda and Papers

This series contains copies of agenda, minutes and papers of meetings of the Board of Management of the Coal Corporation of Victoria (VA 2630). Minutes record, in summary, matters discussed at meetings, decisions made, correspondence received, staff appointments, reports and expenditure.The Coal Corporation was responsible for research (undertaken jointly with industry), the coal laboratory at Gippsland and project development work previously done by the Victorian Brown Coal Council.This series is a complete record of meetings of the Corporation from the inaugural meeting on 26 February 1985 to the final meeting held 13 December 1993 when the Corporation was restructured and merged with the Herman Research Laboratories.The P1 and the P2 consignments consist of the papers collected by the Chairman of SECV and the Chief General Manager SECV as members of the Board of the Coal Corporation of Victoria. Each set of papers is bound with metal clips. Papers within books are divided into sections relevant to business to be discussed or transacted.The location of the confirmed and signed minutes which constitutes the "master set" is not known (as at 2016).In 1994 the files were placed in the secondary storage area of the SECV Central Registry. For convenience of control, the Central Registry placed the files into boxes which were registered in VPRS 8948 Central Registry Correspondence Files: Single Number Sequence as items [33DM4301 to 33DM4307] (N.B.: boxes in custody were marked 33DM01). The files were removed from those boxes and processed as a discrete series for transfer to the PROV.
