Global impacts of organic and mineral fertilizer amendments on soil nematode communities and their relationship to plant productivity

Nematodes play several important roles in soil communities that can impact plant performance. Fertilizer applications designed to improve plant performance can have impacts on soil nematode communities, but we lack a general understanding of how different fertilizer regimes affect plant performance as mediated by changes in soil nematode communities. Here, we used a meta-analysis of 110 fertilization experiments to show that fertilizer type exerts a strong control on in nematodes and plant performance, globally.
