Effects of 5-azacytidine in Erodium cicutarium RNA-seq

Seeds of the herb Erodium cicutarium were either untreated or treated with 5-azacytidine to induce DNA demethylation. After five weeks from germination, RNA-seq libraries from leaves and roots were generated to analyze gene differential expression and build a gene co-expression network to evaluate the impact of 5-azacytidine in plant gene expression regulation. This study seeks to detect relationships between gene expression regulation and DNA methylation in a fast growing and stress resistant plant, with high invasive potential.
