Aquatic life and stream crossings

Results of survey for steelhead at Santa Lucia Preserve. Status of vegetative cover at 14 riparian crossings developed during road and driveway improvements. Photos of these crossings, in 2002 (June or December) and again in February 2003. Letter describing sightings and relocations of red-legged frogs (Rana aurora), western toads (Bufo boreas), Pacific treefrogs (Pseudacris regilla), steelhead/rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss), and western pond turtle (Clemmys marmorata), with locations noted. E-mail correspondance about exotic fish (largemouth bass Micropterus salmoides, bluegill Lepomis macrochirus) in ponds. Water quality data from Moore’s Lake with notes on insects, arachnids, nematodes, and algal blooms associated with each sample.
