资源简介:
Global-scale pollution of various environments with diverse antibiotics and antibiotic resistance genes (ARGs) has attracted widespread attention. As one of the important categories of antibiotics, sulfonamides, which have been deployed haphazardly in ever-increasing quantities, are ubiquitously distributed among various environments. Although sulfonamides have made astonishing contributions to human and livestock health, its residues along with the concomitant/subsequent dissemination of ARGs represent a severe threat to the earth. Therefore, it is urgent to treat the sulfonamides-containing wastewater. However, low efficiency and incomplete catabolism are found in sulfonamides biodegradation. Here, we propose the two bacterial stains Paenarthrobacter sp. P27 and Nocardiodes sp. N27, who are able to cooperatively achieve completely mineralization of sulfonamides (e.g. sulfamethoxazole), and investigate the potential mechanism. Our findings could fill the gap on the complete degradation of sulfonamides.
