BirdGaze_v2

The paper titled "Bird Head Keypoint Estimation for Archosaur Motion Insights" introduces BirdGaze_v2, a bird head keypoint estimation dataset release with complete annotations for three dataset variants and annotated evaluation videos, together with the corresponding eBird media distributed in this record.The annotations include 4 keypoints (beak, crown and eyes) + bounding box for bird detection.The codebase used to train, evaluate, and report the paper results with BirdGaze_v2 is publicly available at: https://github.com/Tomas-Fitas-Santos/Bird_HKE BirdGaze_v2 includes: Full Original Dataset: the complete set of original annotations used in the study workflow. Corrected Subset: a manually corrected subset created to improve annotation quality and consistency. Original Subset: the same subset in its original (uncorrected) form for transparency and comparative analysis. Annotated eBird evaluation videos. eBird-origin images (including training images extracted from eBird video frames) and eBird-origin videos used in this work. Redistribution policy:This release includes images and videos that originated from eBird. For other image sources used in the study, specifically Animal Kingdom, Birdsnap, and NABirds, media files are not redistributed here. Users must obtain those images directly from the original dataset owners/authors and comply with their respective licenses and terms. Intended use:BirdGaze_v2 is intended for academic and non-commercial research on bird keypoint localization, head pose estimation, and benchmarking across diverse visual conditions.
