This dataset contains scanning electron microscopy images showing the worn surfaces of a high porosity aluminum-based composite material after tribological testing. The composite consists of Al10SiMg matrix reinforced with SiC ceramic particles and infiltrated with babbitt alloy using squeeze casting technique. The wear surfaces were generated through pin-on-disk testing under dry sliding conditions. The images reveal microstructural details of the wear mechanisms, surface damage, and material behavior at various magnifications ranging from 100× to 2000×.This research was funded by the Bulgarian National Science Fund, Project KΠ-06-H57/20 ‘Fabrication of new type of self-lubricating antifriction metal matrix composite materials with improved mechanical and tribological properties’.
