We isolated the bacterial symbiont of Steinernema puntauvense nematodes, which were originally from Costa Rica. We confirmed the bacterium as Xenorhabdus bovienii by 16S and recA sequences. We sequenced the genome using Illumina paired-end reads and assembled the reads in VELVET. The genomes were annotated by MaGe (https://www.genoscope.cns.fr/agc/microscope/home/index.php).
