Likelihood of achieving UN obesity targets among men in Europe by 2025, by country

According to a 2021 report, every country in the European Union as well as the United Kingdom were very likely to miss the 2025 target set by the United Nations (UN) for halting the rise in obesity among men. Obesity increases the risk of developing some non-communicable diseases (NCDs). To reduce the burden of NCDs, all the member states of the World Health Assembly had agreed to halt the prevalence of obesity at 2010 levels. Six countries including Italy, Latvia, and Estonia were classed as having a two percent chance of meeting these targets among men by 2025.
