In this work, we studied FC-72 (refrigerant perfluorohexane) droplet impact onto a hot calcium fluoride (CaF2) substrate to observe both solid cooling and droplet spreading, thereby gaining insight into the heat transfer mechanism during the
spreading process. The surface is super-hydrophobic, which corresponds to a contact angle of 180°.
