Amoebophilus asiaticus transcriptome

This study analyzed the gene expression of the obligate intracellular bacterial amoeba symbiont Amoebophilus asiaticus using transcriptome sequencing. Amoebophilus asiaticus strain 5a2 is the endosymbiont of an Acanthamoeba sp. isolated from lake sediment. RNA was isolated at four different time points of the Amoebophilus life cycle: 1.) 12 hours post infection of its Acanthamoeba host, 2.) 72 hours post infection, 3.) 144 hours post infection, and 4.) during the extracellular life cycle stage of Amoebophilus.
