THERMAL COMFORT ASSESSMENT OF STATE UNIVERSITY BUILDINGS: A CASE OF CTU – MOALBOAL

This research paper titled "Thermal Comfort Assessment of State University Buildings: A Case of CTU – Moalboal" explores the thermal comfort conditions of classrooms in a four-storey academic building at Cebu Technological University – Moalboal Campus. By combining objective physical measurements (temperature, humidity, and radiant heat) with subjective surveys from students, the study evaluates the alignment of classroom conditions with ASHRAE Standard 55-2020. It identifies optimal and acceptable temperature ranges for both naturally ventilated and air-conditioned environments and examines the effectiveness of basic thermal interventions. The findings highlight significant gaps in thermal comfort and provide practical recommendations for improving indoor environmental quality in educational settings within tropical climates.
