The aim of the project is the characterization of alterations in the oral microbiome composition of babies with orofacial clefts (OFCs). Therefore, samples of cheek (C) and tongue (T) surfaces of a group of OFC patients and a healthy, age-matched control group were taken at different time points and analyzed by sequencing of the V1-V3 region of the 16S rRNA gene.
