We obtained the complete genome sequences of strains of Sathuperi and Shamonda viruses (species Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus, genus Orthobunyavirus, family Peribunyaviridae) isolated in Japan by performing next-generation sequencing and the Sanger sequencing technique. A variety of untranslated region sequences in Schmallenberg orthobunyavirus was revealed.
