This experiment varied the strength of Mcm1 sites with and without Rap1 sites. It was designed to test the model that weak Mcm1 sites were functional in context of the ancestral ribosomal protein gene regulatory regions but not regions lacking Rap1 sites. Conclusion: Weak Mcm1 sites drove expression in the presence of Rap1 sites.
