Two new transition metal-based coordination polymers [Zn<sub>3</sub>(bimb)<sub>2</sub>(nbta)<sub>2</sub>]<i><sub>n</sub></i> (<b>1</b>, bimb = 1,4-bis(imidazol-1-yl)-2-butene, H<sub>3</sub>nbta = 5-nitro-1,2,3-benzenetricarboxylic acid) and {[Cu<sub>3</sub>(nbta)<sub>2</sub>(bipp)<sub>2</sub>(H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>](H<sub>2</sub>O)<sub>2</sub>}<i><sub>n</sub></i> (<b>2</b>, bipp = 1,4-bis(pyridin-4-ylmethyl)piperazine) have been successfully prepared by reaction of 5-nitro-1,2,3-benzenetricarboxylic acid with the corresponding metal salts and the different N-donor ligands. Furthermore, the treatment effect of compounds <b>1</b> and <b>2</b> on nephrotic syndrome (NS) was evaluated and the specific mechanism was explored in this research. Firstly, to investigate the level of the Th17 cells and CD4 + CD25 + Foxp3+ regulate cells (Treg) in PBMC was detected with flow cytometry. The RT-PCR was performed to analyze the mRNA expression level of <i>16sRNA</i> to determine the intestinal flora abundance.
