Transcriptome sequencing of rat chondrocytes

The mechanosensitive ion channel Piezo1 is an important mechanoreceptor for chondrocytes. In this study, primary chondrocytes were extracted and cultured from the knee cartilage of 4-week-old SD rats, and then treated with DMSO or the Piezo1-specific agonist Yoda1, and then subjected to transcriptome sequencing. The aim was to investigate the role and downstream molecular mechanisms of Piezo1 in chondrocytes.
