Paired_end_sequencing_of_human_chromosome_21_from_Tc1_mouse

Tc1 mice are a mouse model for Down Syndrome; the mice carry a copy of human chromosome 21. Recent array CGH experiments have shown that the human chromosome 21 is not intact and regions are in fact deleted and duplicated. To establish the structure and composition of the human chromosome 21 in Tc1 mice we have flow sorted the chromosome, made small and large insert paired-end libraries and sequenced the libraries. The sequence data has been mapped back to human chromosome 21 sequence and the mouse genome. The sequence data has been analysed for copy number information and the aberrant mapping paired end reads have been interrogated to real the structure of the chromosome.
