Reflectance Spectral Data of Australian Beach Sands

Reflectance spectral data across the VNIR-SWIR (350-2500 nm) of beach sands collected with and ASD spectrometer. The data were collected to understand the mineralogical compositional and brightness differences between the sands from different parts of Australia. The data were used to determine the optimal location to find spectrally flat areas useful for vicarious calibration of optical earth observation sensors.\n\nLineage: The samples used as part of this collection were collected at different beaches across Australia. The were sourced from the National Soil Archive maintained by CSIRO.\n\nThe spectral data were measured with an ASD Field Spec Pro (instrument 6166) across the VNIR-SWIR (350-2500 nm) spectral range.
