Seedlings damage state from an assisted migration trial in temperate mixedwood forest

The data and code presented here are linked to a publication (E. Champagne, D. Dumais, G. Picher and P. Raymond. (2025). Will it survive? Evaluating the effects of damage on tree seedling survival using multi-state models. In preparation.). The experimental design, data collection methods and statistical analyses are fully described in the publication. The data result from 6 Fall surveys on seedlings planted in an assisted migration experiment (Lac-des-Amanites experimental site, Réserve Faunique de Portneuf, Québec, Qc, Canada), assessing seedlings state (healthy, damaged or dead). In the code, this data is used to evaluate transition rates among states, as influenced by silvicultural treatments, using multi-state models.
