Data for paper 'Estimating intra-seasonal intrinsic water-use efficiency from high-resolution tree-ring δ13C data in boreal Scots pine forests'
收藏资源简介:
This dataset supports the study of Tang et al. (2022) accepted by New Phytologist. In Tang et al. (2022), we estimated intrinsic water-use efficiency (iWUE), a key index for carbon and water balance, from tree-ring δ13C data (iWUEiso) at high-resolution intra-seasonal scale for two <em>Pinus</em> <em>sylvestris </em>forests from 2002 to 2019. We compared the intra-seasonal variations and inter-annual trends of iWUEiso with that of iWUE estimated from eddy-covariance (iWUEEC) and leaf gas exchange data (iWUEgas). We also quantified how iWUEiso estimates were impacted by post-photosynthetic δ13C modification and non-explicit consideration of mesophyll and photorespiratory effects in iWUEiso calculations. This dataset includes (1) intra-seasonal tree-ring δ13C data for the two study sites from 2002 to 2019; (2) δ13C of leaf and phloem sugars for the two study sites in year 2018 to quantify post-photosynthetic δ13C modification; (3) iWUEiso, iWUEgas and iWUEEC data series at intra-seasonal and inter-annual scales from 2002 to 2019 in the two study sites.
