A total of 47 stratigraphic pollen samples and four coprolite samples from
five prehistoric sites in the Wyoming Black Hills were examined for pollen.
Samples represent acultural and cultural levels, as well as features. Pollen was
examined primarily to provide paleoenvironmental interpretations. The oldest
radiocarbon age reported for 48CK1395, a multi-component rock shelter, was 5960
+ 70 BP. Occupations at other sites dated between 7430 + 80 BP and 80 + 60 BP.
