资源简介:
Thumpa is a short digital film that explores interactive forms and architectural spaces, referencing the familiar and the unexpected - the Chronos and the Aion.
Directed by Greg More and Mathan Ratinam, Thumpa was developed from research material from Greg More's Master of Architecture in combination with Mathan Ratinam's research with sound design by Jeremy Yuille. Thumpa illustrates the pioneering use of agent-based simulations as generators for architectural design. Techniques developed incorporate programming and rendering processes that composite live human interaction with three-dimensional spatial elements. The final edited version presents a unique computational architectural space in a digital film format providing a reflective piece on time, computation and the human inhabitation of hybrid digital spaces.
Thumpa was selected for a range of international digital film festivals, and consequently was viewed in over 18 countries as part of the OneDotZero and ResFest film festivals. The screenings include: OneDotZero7 (International) 2003; Resfest (International) 2003; Melbourne International Animation Festival (Melbourne), 2003; Graphite2003, ANZGRAPH, SEAGRAPH, ACMI (Melbourne), 2003; UpOverDownUnder Festival (London) 2004; Cinanima (Espinno, Portugal) 2004.
