资源简介:
Trifoliate orange (Poncirus trifoliata, 2n = 2x = 18) is a close relative of Citrus species, which belongs to the Rutaceae family. It is native to China, and it has become naturalized in other regions of Asia, the United States, Australia, andEurope. P. trifoliata is distinct from Citrus in many characteristics however, it is sexually compatible with Citrus species. It has three leaflets on each of the leaf and it is deciduous in nature. It has large thorns on the shoots, and produces bitter, inedible fruit containing many seeds with no economic value. However, due to their advantageous features, including cold hardiness and resistance/tolerance to several major diseases and pests, P. trifoliata and its hybrids have been widely utilized as rootstocks in citrus production.
