This dataset supports the article: Phan, T.X.D., & Zuo, A. (2025). Towards Sustainable Food Consumption: A Household-Level Analysis of Home Cooking Behaviours in Urban Vietnam. Sustainable Development. https://doi.org/10.1002/sd.70383The dataset includes de-identified variables used to construct the Household Sustainable Home Cooking (HSHC) Index, which measures sustainability across eight behavioural dimensions: meal planning, purchasing, cooking ability, storage, eating patterns, handling leftovers, waste management, and use of eco-friendly products. Socio-demographic variables (e.g., education, occupation, and family composition) are also provided.This dataset enables replication of:-Composite index construction (equal-weighted and PCA-weighted approaches)-Robustness checks of index specifications-Cluster analysis identifying four household sustainability profiles: Food Management Leaders, Sustainable Diet Households, Planning and Leftover Strugglers, and Least Sustainable HouseholdsFull documentation of survey items, reverse-coded variables, index construction procedures (including formulas), weighting methods, PCA robustness checks, and cluster validation tests are provided in the <b>Supporting Information (Appendices A–C)</b> of the published article.All data have been fully de-identified in accordance with the approved human research ethics protocol.Researchers using this dataset are requested to cite the associated publication.
