Geospatial dataset of constraints and availability for offshore wind in UK waters

This dataset contains the geospatial dataset used for the spatial data analysis, producing figures, and setting up interactive dashboards of the manuscript 'Finding space for offshore wind to support net zero: A methodology to assess spatial constraints and future scenarios, illustrated by a UK case study' in Renewable Energy and Sustainability Review The dataset contains 8 shapefiles data. List of files are: 1. ED50_UK_EEZ_Anthropogenic_Feature_Layers.shp This file contains layers of different anthropogenic constraints for offshore wind in UK-EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.6,9 in manuscript and Dashboard [1]. 2. ED50_UK_EEZ_Geological_Feature_Layers.shp This file contains layers of different anthropogenic constraints for offshore wind in UK-EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.7,9 in manuscript and Dashboard [1]. 3. ED50_UK_EEZ_Ecological_Feature_Layers.shp This file contains layers of different anthropogenic constraints for offshore wind in UK-EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.8,9 in manuscript and Dashboard [1]. 4. ED50_UK_EEZ_Wind_Speed_Layer.shp This file contains layers of wind speed data (from average 30 years from Met Office, 2015) in every grid (up to 10km2) in UK-EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.5 in manuscript and Dashboard [1&3]. 5. ED50_UK_EEZ_Anthro_Geo_Eco_Constraints_in_number.shp This file contains the data of amount of each feature constraint layers for every grid (up to 10km2) in UK-EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.14 & Dashboard [1]. 6. ED50_UK_EEZ_Precalibrated_availability_level_in_UK_EEZ_outside_current_OW_leased_sites.shp This file contains the quantitative availability level - see Section 2 in the manuscript for every grid (up to 10km2) in UK-EEZ waters outside the current OW leased sites. This file is used to generate Fig.10-12,15 & Dashboard [2]. 7. ED50_UK_EEZ_Precalibrated_availability_level_in_current_OW_leased_sites.shp This file contains the quantitative availability level - see Section 2 in the manuscript for every grid (up to 10km2) in current OW leased sites. This file is used to generate Fig.12-13,15e & Dashboard [2]. 8. ED50_UK_EEZ_Calibrated_availability_level_in_UK_EEZ.shp This file contains the quantitative availability level calibrated to the current OW leased sites - see Section 2 in the manuscript for every grid (up to 10km2) in UK EEZ waters. This file is used to generate Fig.16-20 & Dashboard [3].
