LCZ, short for Local Climate Zone, this dataset comprises 500,000 Sentinel-1 and Sentinel-2 image patches collected from 42 urban agglomerations (plus 10 smaller regions), alongside their corresponding Local Climate Zone (LCZ) annotations. This dataset was annotated by 15 experts over a 6-month period in strict accordance with established workflows and evaluation procedures. It can be applied to research on monitoring urban growth and addressing climate change via machine learning technologies.
