The transcription factor Spic regulates genes associated with heme and iron metabolism. We used microarrays to identify genes regulated by the transcription factor Spic in patrolling monocytes. Overall design: To identify Spic-regulated genes in patrolling monocytes, we isolated Ly6C-low monocytes from peripheral blood of Spic heterozygous and Spic knockout mice that were previously exposed to LPS and performed gene expression analysis of these cells using microarray.
