Time-course taxonomic change of a phenanthrene-degrading bacterial consortium, MixEPa4, in minimal liquid medium containing phenanthrene as a sole carbon source was conducted to investigate the change in the community structure during phenanthrene degradation. MixEPa4 was mainly composed of five bacterial groups, and drastic changes in community compositions of five groups were not detected during the phenanthrene degradation.
