Rat mammary cancer induced by radiation exposure at 1, 3, or 7 weeks of age

The risk of developing secondary cancer after radiotherapy, especially after treatment of childhood cancers, remains a matter of concern. The present study is aimed to investigate the effect of gamma-ray irradiation in childhood on breast carcinogenesis using a rat model of mammary carcinogenesis.
