The paper aims to conduct a theoretical reflection on which motor and psychomotor activities proposed in pre-school are propaedeutic for a correct and functional learning of handwriting, with a new perspective on the concept of pre-graphism. In particular, the prerequisites of manual writing will be explored and motivated: visual-perceptual and visual-motor skills, global and fine motor skills. The aim of the contribution is to draw attention to the importance of consciously planned motor activities in pre-school in order to structure the cognitive foundations for the acquisition of future learning, from formal and praxial ones such as handwriting to abstract ones.Keywords: kindergarten, handwriting traning, motor skill, perceptual skills, visual– motor skill
