The cellulose isolation from waterweed (Elodea) by means of an extraction process using recyclable polar solvents enables a much gentler treatment of the cellulose， a significant reduction of the work steps as well as the waste water and waste load compared to the previous processes. The paper made from this cellulose can be produced in sufficient quality and is characterized by low raw material costs.
