These data were collected as part of a global survey, conducted by IOC-UNESCO between December 2019 and March 2020, gathered responses from the global Early Career Ocean Professional (ECOP) community through social media, listservs, Ocean Decade channels, and personal networks. Designed to identify pressing scientific and capacity development gaps, it also captured the professional interests and expertise of respondents to address potential data skewness by region or profile.
