High-resolution UAV Orthomosaic, Point Cloud and DSM Dataset - Oil Spill Cleanup Site (Mackenzie River), NWT, CA 5 cm GSD [2022, 2024]

This dataset provides high-resolution Unmanned Aerial Vehicle (UAV) data from a site along the Peel Channel of the Mackenzie River, Northwest Territories, Canada. The data was collected on two separate dates, September 18, 2022 (490 images), and September 18, 2024 (270 images), offering a multi-temporal view of substantial surface changes. For both years, the dataset includes a dense point cloud, a Digital Surface Model (DSM), and a high-resolution orthomosaic. The 2022 data captures the site in a relatively undisturbed state. In contrast, the 2024 data documents the area during a period of extensive ground disturbance and on-site industrial activity, including the presence of heavy machinery and temporary structures. This data was acquired as part of the "UndercoverEisAgenten" citizen science project. This multi-year dataset is valuable for applications in environmental monitoring, change detection, and the study of landscape alterations resulting from industrial or remediation activities in Arctic regions. The data was processed using Agisoft Metashape Professional.
