Bio-optical Field and Laboratory Measurements

Field measurements of inherent and apparent optical properties were measured along with other observational data at a range of Australian inland water bodies. The water samples collected were analysed in the laboratory for concentrations of Chlorophyll, phycocyanin and TSS. Absorptions of the unfiltered and filtered water samples were undertaken along with HPLC analyses. The resultant data was used to parameterise Earth Observation models to derive multi-temporal retrievals of water quality information.\nLineage: The field measurements were undertaken by staff in the CSIRO O&A Aquatic Remote Sensing team. The laboratory measurements were undertaken by the CSIRO O&A in Hobart.
