Комаину (яп. 狛犬) — японское мифическое животное, напоминающее смесь льва и собаки. Парные статуи комаину служат мистическими стражами, расположенными парами при входе в синтоистские храмы. Этот комаину находился при входе в храм Карафуто дзиндзя - главный храм префектуры Карафуто, бывшей японской части острова Сахалин (Россия). Komainu statues serve as mystical guards positioned in pairs at the entrance to Shinto temples. This komainu was located at the entrance to the Karafuto Jinja temple, the main temple of Karafuto Prefecture, the former Japanese part of Sakhalin island which is now Russia.
