Longitudinal (time-series) analyses of lung (sputum) microbiota of tuberculosis patients recruited in Pretoria, South Africa

We collected 39 sputum samples from 11 tuberculosis patients in Pretoria, South Africa, between June and October 2019 to determine the changes in their sputum microbiota from baseline (before taking antibiotics) to the a week after beginning antibiotic chemotherapy. Sputum samples were collected beginning from day 0 (before the patients took antibiotics), through day 1, day 2 and to day 7.
