Torlakcik Catalog: SETI Parametric Avoidance Model — Gaia DR3 Exclusion Catalog
收藏资源简介:
The Torlakcik Catalog is a machine-readable exclusion catalog derived from Gaia DR3, produced using a rule-based parametric avoidance model for SETI target selection. It contains 1,742,306 stars with exclusion flags and reason codes (R1–R7) based on seven stellar parameters: mass, age, spectral type, metallicity, multiplicity, photometric variability, and M-dwarf chromospheric activity. This dataset is intended as a reproducible baseline for SETI target prioritization, observatory scheduling, and research on stellar populations. While the catalog focuses on the Gaia DR3 sample, the underlying methodology is open-sourced across two repositories: the paper-specific analysis pipeline https://github.com/torlakciksahin/gaia-seti-avoidance and a generalized, catalog-agnostic software framework for universal stellar survey filtering https://github.com/torlakciksahin/stellar-avoidance.The catalog contains ~1.74 million rows and exceeds the row limits of common spreadsheet software such as Microsoft Excel (1,048,576 rows). The dataset is intended for programmatic analysis using tools such as Python (pandas), R, or dedicated astronomical catalog software. For large-table inspection, tools such as ExtremeCSV or TOPCAT are recommended. Gaia DR3 data were accessed via the ESA TAP service; the full TAP query is included in the manuscript’s Appendix A.
