This dataset includes the results of our study and data that support the findings. (1) The folders include an estimated result of the carbon balance of China's terrestrial ecosystems, covering carbon stocks, carbon sequestration, carbon emissions and net carbon in 2014, 2017, 2020, 2023. It elucidates the carbon balance status of China's terrestrial ecosystems from 2014 to 2023 in two dimensions: state quantity (carbon stocks) and process quantity (carbon sequestration and emissions). Due to the space limitation, only four-years (2014, 2017, 2020, 2023) carbon stocks, carbon sequestration, carbon emissions and net carbon are uploaded.(2) The following datasets are the data that support our findings.The China Land Cover Dataset (CLCD) (1985-2023) are accessible at https://doi.org/10.5281/zenodo.12779975. The MOD17A3HGF dataset provided by NASA Earthdata (private workstation), available at https://doi.org/10.5067/MODIS/MOD17A3HGF.061 The harmonized world soil database (HWSD, Versions 1.2 and 2.0) can be accessed at https://www.fao.org/soils-portal/data-hub/en/.
