"A Neurophysiological Framework for Cupping Therapy: Reinterpreting Prophetic Guidelines in Light of Modern Medicine"

This paper proposes a novel neurophysiological framework that bridges traditional Prophetic guidance on cupping therapy with modern scientific understanding. By integrating classical Islamic texts with clinical observation and contemporary neuroscience, it reinterprets key Prophetic instructions—such as superficial incisions and fasting during cupping—as physiologically purposeful interventions. Five original models are introduced, explaining cupping’s effects on microcirculation, vagus nerve activity, site-specific therapeutic strategies, psychospiritual certainty, and systemic modulation. The study redefines cupping not as a direct cure but as a neuro-environmental modulator that enhances the body's functional healing capacity.
