Shell-Snap Dataset 2025: Images, mass and length measurements for bivalves from New Caledonia

The Shell-Snap-Dataset-2025 is a curated image-and-morphometry collection for two shallow-water species of bivalves - Anadara antiquata and Gafrarium tumidum - from New-Caledonia. A total of 1,203 individual invertebrates were photographed, generating 2,406 images (two viewpoints - dorsal and ventral - per specimen). The images were acquired using the Shell-Snap-0.1 acquisition device, allowing standardized scale and background across samples. All images have a size of 224×224 pixels. In addition to the images, shell length and wet weight measurements are provided for each specimen.
