This project used amplicon and shotgun metagenome sequencing to explore the taxonomic and functional diversity of aeolian (i.e., wind-blown dust) collected at four sites around the Salton Sea in Southern California. Samples were collected for various durations in 2020 and 2021 at four sites: UC Riverside's Palm Desert Campus, the Boyd Deep Canyon Research Center, the Dos Palmas Preserve, and the Imperial Wildlife Area - Wister unit.
