Shockwave Lithotripsy Procedures

This concept set contains codes for shockwave lithotripsy (SWL), a stone removal procedure. It was developed by performing a string search for "shock"+"lithotripsy" or "eswl" and excluding the terms "penis", "tendin", "gall", "tendon", "panc", "bile" in the vocabularies ICD10PCS, HCPCS, ICD9Proc, CPT4, SNOMED, and OPCS4 in the measurement and procedure domains. This concept set is limited to the ICD10PCS, HCPCS, ICD9Proc, CPT4, SNOMED, and OPCS4 vocabularies in the procedure and measurement domains. This concept set contains all of the codes in the previous codeset with the addition of a few that do not explicitly mention shockwave lithotripsy/SWL, but contain language such as "fragmentation in" kidney/ureter/pelvis/bladder. These may or may not be specific enough to identify the procedure as SWL for the study purpose.
