Media Reported Road Traffic Crash Data

The data was obtained from articles documenting crashes in the Times of India. This dataset presents statistical data on different crash variables acquired from news articles. Every row corresponds to information about a single collision. The data was gathered using the Python programming language, specifically the Selenium package, to automate the process of selecting online pages based on the keywords "road", "accident", and "killed". Additionally, it retrieved the Title, Date, and Main Body of the Article. The NLTK package was employed to extract pertinent information from the raw data, while the pandas package was used to organise the data into a data frame. Researchers can utilise this data to gain insights into people's perceptions of road traffic crashes and identify any biases in media reporting that may influence the portrayal of specific crash types.
