Details of production wells are listed on the cards along with their assets. Details of a production well includes date of drilling, company name, depth of drill hole, and details of the reports, logs, and tapes submitted to the department by the company.Oil and gas companies apply for permits (licences) to explore areas on- and offshore. Examples of valid exploration permit names include: VIC/P11, PEP101, etc. The permit cards give details of the name and basin of the permit, the company, the permit, lease or licence type, and a list of reports or maps received by the department for that permit.Oil and gas companies discover oil and gas fields. The index cards with field details have lists of tapes, maps, and reports received by the department from oil companies for the particular field.Lists of physical assets are associated with production wells such as: tapes, reports, maps, seismic sections, etc. This is only a very limited list of assets.
