Metabolic rewiring tunes dermal macrophages in staphylococcal skin infection [RNA-seq dataset 1]

Dermal macrophages (Macs) are essential for the timely resolution of staphylococcal skin infections. However the cell intrinsic pathways and microenvironmental cues that mediate this are unclear. Here we analyzed a strictly intradermal ear infection model with Staphylococcus aureus (S. aureus) to explore immunometabolic regulation. Overall design: mRNA Transcriptomes of bone marrow derived macrophages (BMDMs) generated from LysMcre/+::HIF1afl/fl mice. Either Cre(+) mice or Cre(-) were used The BMDMs were generated for 6 days in either M-CSF or GM-CSF. The macrophages were either left untreated (control) or stimulated for 4 hours with heat fixed S. aureus.
