The most famous of the cultivars of banana are seedless triploids, as the commercially important Cavendish desert banana (AAA) and the staple African Plantains (AAB) which have importance for food security. We provide Genotyping-By-Sequencing (GBS) data for genebank accessions with diploid and triploid combinations of the A and/or B genomes including AAB plantains and AAA Cavendish.This work is a collaboration between the J. Craig Venter Institute, CIRAD and Bioversity international.
